Ludwig Tsoi

Ludwig completed his studies at the University of Adelaide, Australia, majoring in Violin. His dedication to the highest standards in music was awarded when passed the ATCL performance level at the age of 15 in 2018. He was fortunate to have tutors like Samuel Kwok, Byron Lo, Joe Kwok, and Elizabeth Layton throughout his studies, and each of them played a part in his development as a good musician.

Ludwig waschooled in musicality during his time at school by being an active participant in the Music Youth Orchestra (MYO) and the Haw Par Orchestra. He was the 1st violinist of the Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra (ECSO) and also played both 1st and 2nd violin with the Elder Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra (ECCO), thus showing his wide-ranging capabilities, to the extent that he was involved with the performance of a large variety of classical and contemporary works.

His performance history consists of a different mix of occasions and competitions. Among others, he performed at the Disney events, ViuTV shows, and ESCO concerts at some prestigious venues, for example the Haw Par performances. He has also been part of several distinguished orchestras in Australia, to whom he had given recordings and performances. Ludwig has also been in the company of famous conductors, like Mark Wigglesworth, and this has contributed to his professional development and artistry.

Ludwig, apart from his performing career, is also very committed to music education and has taught viola and violin at Shek Lei Catholic Secondary School and Queen Maud Secondary School (H.K.M.L.C.). He not only trains students on music but also helps them develop an appreciation of it, which in turn makes them passionate and skillful young musicians.

His path to this point is based on a combination of extensive theorical knowledge and broad practical training. Ludwig, being a certified ABRSM Grade 8 Music Theory, has an all-inclusive understanding of music in general and of his art in particular. This basis got strengthened through particular masterclasses conducted by professional musicians like Dale Barltrop, Joseph Elworthy and Amelia Chan.
